Brian Way owns B.P. Way Millwork Installations in Northford, Connecticut, where he lives with his wife and two children. He got an early start in the business, working for his father's construction company and then later attending trade school. A few years out of school he realized building cabinets and furniture is what he wanted to do. When Brian got married he and his wife designed and built their house and a year later he started a cabinet shop. After years of specializing in radius millwork and one-of-a-kind pieces he closed the shop and went into business installing cabinets and millwork. His tools needed to come with him so he built a shop on wheels, which brought him some recognition when the vehicle was feature on Paul Akers' American Innovation Show. In addition to installing millwork, Brian sells tools through his own online company, BPWay.com and spends his spare time inventing products.
The Thingamejig is a precision scribing tool invented by an Australian cabinet maker who installs millwork and cabinetry.
To avoid running back and forth to the truck for missing items, I outfitted a rolling cart to carry everything needed to do the job.
