Phil Herzegovitch was born and raised in NYC and is the owner of Daedelus Design, a design/build remodeling firm in Danbury, CT. He studied cabinet making in high school and Aeronautical Engineering at Embry Riddle University. Phil got a degree in Graphic Design/Commercial Art while working full-time as an auto technician. He worked at a dealership for seven years, had his own shop with a partner, and then managed a body shop. During that time he received an ASE master Technician Certification and a Chrysler Corp Master Certification. After 16 years of automotive work Phil decided he was ready for something with less grease and more creativity – so he went into the remodeling business. He recently took a job as a PM for a small commercial construction firm but continues to operate his remodeling company. A strong proponent of training, Phil is NAHB CGR and CAPS certified, BPI Building Analyst certified, and as he puts it – sometimes just plain certifiable. "If I'm interested in something I go full bore—sucking up info and knowledge like a sponge". When not doing construction work, Phil hangs out with his wife and three kids—and is very involved with his church community. It's a challenge for him to find time for his hobbies, which currently include cycling and the restoration of a '67 Camaro (once a gearhead, always a gearhead).
You could call it an emergency; Phil Herzegovitch needed to replace his work vehicle and could not afford to buy new.
