I stumbled across this review of clamp meters on The Sparky Channel and am sharing it because it’s entertaining to see tools “argue” with each other and because the narrator takes a non-techie approach to reviewing a pair of highly technical products. He goes into the specs, but spends much of his time on features that affect usability—and I like that.

Both clamp meters (Fluke 325 and Klein CL2000) are AC/DC true RMS models. True RMS meters are more accurate than standard meters—which can be fooled by AC current that does not exhibit a clean sine wave. This is not an issue for most of us, but it is for the electrician or tech who must deal with fan controls, motor controls, high efficiency HVAC systems, and the like.
