If the Liberty Tool Store is not unique and unusual, then I don't know what is.
I lived in Maine for a couple of years in the 80s and whenever possible I made the 90-minute drive to the small town of Liberty. Except for a post office and antique shop, the tool store was about the only thing in town. The town may have changed some since then but the store is still there.
What I liked about it was the incredible selection of old tools – some antique, others not, but all ready to be used some more. You'd open a draw and it would be filled with chisels, machinist's rules, or some kind of tool you had never seen before.
