Timber Products Co. will close its White City, Ore., mill and consolidate its softwood plywood production at its Grants Pass, Ore., facility, the company announced today.

Production will end at White City on Nov. 25, the Springfield, Ore.-based manufacturer said. Most White City employees will be offered positions at Grants Pass, about 35 miles away.

"The market for softwood plywood products has changed dramatically in the past few years," Timber Products Vice President Roger Rutan said in a statement. "Timber Products will continue to offer the same full line of softwood plywood, both commodity and specialty products. ... The consolidation of this production into our Grants Pass facility solidifies our commitment to the product line."
