Michael Laxineta has joined The Magazine Group as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In this newly created position, he will oversee the company's marketing strategies and new business development.
Most recently, Laxineta was the Managing Director, Marketing and Strategic Planning at Tribune Media Net, the national sales arm of Tribune Company, representing all newspaper properties. In this role he led marketing's efforts to bring industry-leading, integrated advertising solutions to national advertisers. Laxineta joined Tribune in 2006 as Managing Director, Sales Development.

Prior to Tribune, Laxineta held several high level positions at PR Newswire over the course of seven years including Vice President of Marketing, Americas and Vice President, Eastern Region. He also served as Director of Advertising and Vice President and Publisher of the Los Angeles Independent Newspaper Group. Laxineta earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and is a graduate of the Executive Master's in Technology Management (EMTM) program of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and School of Engineering.
