I recently bought my first multi-tool — a Leatherman. I didn't intend to wait this long; it's just that there were so darn many to choose from. And I was afraid of ending up like the fellow in this video, who started...

buying multi-tools and seems not to have been able to stop. He has a nice collection, and if you have to collect something, there are probably worse things to collect than multi-tools. And of course, you can always use them for their intended purpose — in which case, you're not really collecting. I'll have to console myself with those thoughts, because a week after buying my first multi-tool I bought a second, and immediately began thinking about a third.

In case you are interested in how Leatherman tools are made, there is a video tour of the factory at the bottom of this page. The tools are made in the USA, which is all the more reason for me to feel bad for not buying one before now.
