An on-board LED light illuminates the cut area so following a cutline is easy. The lack of an integral blower means manually removing sawdust as you go.
A twist-lock mechanism works effortlessly with one hand. The port releases blades with a little help from an internal spring which means broken pieces release easily as well.
Tucked out of sight, but not out of reach, the speed adjustment dial offers another bit of control over cuts. While the saw's footplate only registers at 90 degrees, the gauge allows for finer miter adjustments.
The allen key stores securely at the top of the footplate, keeping it close at hand. A removable no-mar plastic plate clips over the footplate.
The black lever, a staple on Bosch's jigsaws, is right where you need it so adjusting the oscillating action is easy. The sliding on-off switch means no realtime variable speed, a feature that's not missed on this saw. The LED on-off switch is readily available, and battery gauge comes on automatically when the tool is on.
The Bosch JS120BN is compatible with the Collins Coping Foot.
