Every now and then I run across tools that for the life of me, I can't figure out why they exist. This multi-tool with a built-in hammer is one of them. According to the packaging, it's 14 tools in 1: hammer, nail claw, regular pliers, linesman pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, knife, file, serrated blade, 1/8-inch slotted screwdriver, 1/4-inch slotted screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, can opener, and key ring. The maker counts the loop on the end as a key ring—presumably because a 13-in-1 tool would be bad luck
I intentionally hid the brand label because I don't want to embarrass the manufacturer. Speaking of embarrassment, I'm kind of embarrassed to own this tool, so I plan to give it away. You probably don't want it for yourself, but it might be the perfect "gift" for that special someone on your crew who is always asking to borrow your tools. You can give it to him and say, "Dude, you now have 14 tools. Stop askin' to borrow mine!"
Here's what you have to do:
1. "Like" Tools of the Trade on Facebook. If you already "Like" us, don't worry, you're still eligible to win.
2. Find the tool on Tools of the Trade's Facebook page and explain in a comment why it is awesome and why you or that special crew member deserves to have it (hint: funny or clever comments encouraged; please no profanity or last names). The person whose comment receives the most Likes by 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on October 22, 2013 will win the tool. In the event of a tie, I'll choose one winner at random from among the tied contestants.
3. Be at least 18 years of age.
4. Reside in the Continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii—because those are the only places I'll ship the tool.
I'll message the winner through Facebook and arrange to send him or her the tool. And no—you can't return it if you don't like it. I don't want it back.
