Ridgid’s new R8224K impact driver looks a lot like a palm nailer, though instead of driving nails it drives screws. The tool is pressure-sensitive, meaning that in order to engage the bit you simply push down on the screw that you’re driving. And although it doesn’t come with a trigger like other drivers, it is variable speed – controlled with the amount of pressure placed on it. The driver is equipped with an LED light and fuel guage. It runs on Ridgid’s 12V battery platform, has a no-load speed of 0-2000 RPM and max torque of 400 in.-lbs. The kit includes a bit, one 1/5 Ah battery, charger, and carrying case. Cost: $99
