Festool's new T-18+3 drill combines 18-volt lithium-ion power with a number of innovative features. The tool is designed around four interchangeable chucks: a quick-change driver head for putting in screws; a 1/2-inch three-jaw chuck for drill bits; a right-angle nose for drilling and driving in tight quarters; and – most interesting of all – the Eccentric chuck, which offsets the bit to the edge of the drill so you can drive screws near inside corners without marring the material. The heads easily lock into place with a twist of a collar piece. Features include a reversible belt clip, an LED light, a battery gauge, a magnetic bit holder, and an electronic clutch that beeps when it engages. Like other Festool products, the T-18 comes in a Systainer storage box.
¦ Price: $625 for the kit; $500 for just the driver chuck and two batteries. 888-337-8600. www.festool.com.
