Milwaukee announced a feature-packed cordless drywall gun and cutout tool at their media event last week. Both the Drywall Screw Gun and Cutout Tool run on the M18 battery platform.

The Drywall Screw Gun features a motor that spins 4500 RPMs, which is faster than most corded models. It’s also very quiet. But the most distinguishing feature of the screw gun is its Auto-Start Mode. The Auto-Start feature isn’t new to cordless tools. But the way this one works is. In the video here you’ll see me demonstrate how the feature works, and how it saves on battery run-time. Notice how quiet it is, even in Auto mode. Expect to see this sometime in the Fall 2016. It will retail for $229 for the kit, which will include charger, 1.5 Ahr battery, and belt hook.

The Cutout tool, according to Milwaukee, is faster than any other corded cutout tool on the market. It weighs about 3lbs with a 1.5 Ahr battery. With the 1.5 Ahr battery Milwaukee says you’ll be able to cut out 51 single gang boxes on one charge. It will be released at the same time as the screw gun and will retail for $199 (bare tool only).
