I stumbled upon a YouTube channel recently called Essential Craftsman. It features master carpenter Scott Wadsworth and is produced by his son Nate. Wadsworth speaks with an authority only attained by decades of experience in construction. He is clearly productive, and, not surprisingly in our field, opinionated. He yields his Skilsaw with incredible aptitude; you can learn a lot from just watching him work. Note: Wadsworth is speaking here to an audience who is highly experienced in saw-use. If you’re not, please watch his introductory videos in which he provides safety tips. Some of his practices are still dangerous (for example, pinning the blade guard up with a sinker); if even they are widely used in the industry, we don’t condone them.
